SCDC Scrutiny & Overview Committee

South Cambridgeshire residents are invited to find out more about local healthcare and crime reduction at South Cambridgeshire District Council’s (SCDC) scrutiny and overview committee meeting on Thursday 3rd September from 5:30pm at Landbeach Village Hall.

The committee is touring the district to give people more opportunities to get involved in local democracy. During the last ten months, meetings have been held in Foxton, Bassingbourn, Over, Fulbourn and Gamlingay.

September’s meeting will include two presentations, one by Matthew Winn, managing director of Cambridgeshire Community Services, which provides local NHS and social care services; and another by County Councillor John Reynolds, chairman of the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership on its work.

Committee chairman Cllr John Batchelor, said,

We aim to look at and make constructive suggestions for improvement of services and issues that matter to local communities. We hope that residents will come along to the meeting and we are keen for them to take part.

Time will be given for residents to ask questions and to suggest future topics for the committee to scrutinise. Anyone planning to ask a question is asked to let SCDC know in advance to allow time to research and prepare full answers.

Question should be sent by email to scrutiny@scambs.gov.uk or call SCDC’s scrutiny development officer, Jackie Sayers on (01954) 713451.
