On Monday Cambridge News reported on Thursday night’s SCDC full council meeting where, as you already know, they agreed to fund the grant of up to £261,000 for the re-development of the Visitor Centre.

However if you are a subscriber to Cambridge News you may have been surprised to read that Cllr Manning said “it would cost the council about £600,000 a year to return to running the park itself, substantially more than the £200,000 annual revenue it currently gives to the park.”

Their reporter is confused. The park gets no regular income from SCDC. It did cost around that figure in the last year SCDC ran it so perhaps that’s the figure which Cambridge News are confusing it with.
