In a move to promote sport and fitness amongst its residents, South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) has joined forces with the county council to implement a new scheme to ensure a lasting sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic Games which will offer free swimming for under 16s and over 60s.

Three pools in SCDC are included in the scheme: Impington, Melbourn and Sawston so as Impington is our local pool this should be of benefit to Milton.

Cambridge City Council are running a similar scheme, but only for the over 60s, at their Parkside and Abbey pools and at the King’s Hedges learner pool all of which are arguably easier to get to if you’re relying on public transport and you can use these too even if you live in Milton.
