Identifying Trees in Winter

Milton Country Park ranger Malcolm Busby will be leading a tree identification activity on Sunday, November 16th in the Park.

Find out how to tell Hazel from Hornbeam, Alder from Ash, and Birch from Blackthorn. You will be joining one of the rangers for a walk around the Park
looking at trees in the winter and learning how to identify them without their leaves!

The event will go on whatever the weather with some indoor time if required to learn the basics before venturing outside to practice.

Meet at the Visitor Centre at 2pm, there will be a charge of £3.00 per
person and places should be booked in advance by calling the centre on 420060.

Malcolm Busby said “Trees are such an important part of any landscape and having an idea of which species of tree you are looking at is very useful”.
