It’s our first plastics collection on Tuesday and SCDC are starting to worry about what’s going to happen when it goes live. Cllr Ellington, portfolio holder for environmental services, said

“Until their first plastic bottle collection we urge residents to continue using their local plastic recycling banks. It is important that residents don’t stockpile their bottles as this could cause problems with vehicle capacity and overwhelm collections in the first weeks.”

So if you have stockpiled them it might be polite to hold a few back the first time, or at least make sure they’re well crush. There’s more on what can go in the box here on the SCDC web site.
